For job seekers hope that more opportunities as unemployment decreases the

MARION, IL (KFVS)-new figures show unemployment can improve the economy, but there are still many job seekers to find work.


The national unemployment rate for January was on 9.0 percent in Illinois. It's a drop of 9.2 percent in December.


In the meantime, for job seekers, the Mantracon witnesses more opportunities in Southern Illinois.


"I see the job posted more often, they are filling, we move on Board of our work," said Christine Pell, a specialist in career for Mantracon.


Career specialist Christine Pell says that every new post is a sign that the economy had increased.


"If employees contact us for their position, we can see more opportunities," said Pell. "Maybe they're looking for to hire more than one person. Also, we see people who maybe in their search for employment for less than six months. "


In Southern Illinois-view the latest numbers from the Shire of unemployment from December many Heartland counties as Williamson, physiological, and Jefferson counties in the mid-8% range.


Other similar Franklin and Perry counties are still higher than 10 percent, which means that there are still many people out of work.


"It was a tough trip," said Matt Hunter McChristin work.


McChristin was a high school, an English teacher, who lost their jobs due to budget cuts at the end of the school year 2010. Career change since then, the look, but didn't have much luck.


Nevertheless, the report says that unemployment numbers diminish gives him hope, his first day in the new work may be far away.


"I feel that it is close," said McChristin. "It's just something, when it comes, I'll feel even better."


Pell said while the local economy is still not where it should be, it looks like things are starting to look for.


"I think that is moving in the right direction," said Pell. "I think that employers are finding that they are that it can be a good time to start, he hired."
