When asked for his opinion about the meaning of 'great peace Shura' (Council) announced by the Afghan Government led by Hamid Karzai, the effectiveness of the Council members, who include some familiar faces of leaders of some previous movements and its role towards peace, Taliban leader responded that this particular 'shura' had no such credibility because it was "a face and is intended to provide benefits and personal gains."
"In an extreme measure, its members are in favour of the American occupation though they consider themselves jihadi leaders were at the time of the Jihad against the Russians, but due to its support for the American occupation, they do not have such a status view of Afghan nation." Similarly, members representing the Islamic Emirate and deemed to have participated in the 'peace shura' can never represent Islamic Emirate because they themselves are under American supervision and custody, he added."
In response to another question about reports that Taliban leaders involved in talks with the Americans or the regime in Kabul, Kabir said that U.S. forces in Afghanistan have already been "militarily defeated and their fighters have failed in this regard", the United States and its allies were now "trying to have at least some political profits."
